National Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit
UMD School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and NCSG Host Upcoming National Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit
Proposals due June 25, 2018 at midnight
The University of Maryland School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation and the National Center for Smart Growth (NCSG) will host the first-ever National Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit. The summit, entitled National Dialogue, Local Impact, focusing on “Creative Placemaking and Change,” is planned to spark dialogue about creative solutions to community challenges—such as gentrification, environmental instability and threats to cultural assets—by fostering engagement with the arts and design. This year’s conference, taking place October 5-7, 2018, will offer a range of tools and strategies for working with communities and stakeholders.
The National Consortium for Creative Placemaking, @cpcommunities, is seeking instructors to propose breakout sessions at the upcoming summit @CPLSummit. Visit www.cplsummit.org/national for a link to a video of their webinar entitled, “Build the Ideal Session,” for guidance. The deadline to submit a proposal is Monday, June 25 at midnight (Eastern Time).
